About the Director

Ronak Pandit started his career in shooting at the age of 13. Though the first shot he ever fired was with an air pistol by sitting on his father’s (Ashok Pandit, Arjuna Awardee) lap at the age of 3, shooting had been more of fun and once a month hourly outing to the shooting range. A bright student himself, he knew how to make academics and sports compliment each other and emerged with this idea. He believes sports can help a person excel at studies and studies helps a person excel at sports. With this endeavor, Ronak plans to give something back to the sport. With his education in management studies, he is trying to amalgamate his academic knowledge with his sporting experience to get our country more medals at every level of the competition. The major difference between the sporting powerhouses and others is the way they manage the talent right from the start.

Today, along with his own competitive shooting, Ronak also personally coaches shooting enthusiasts. Ronak first started his new role as a coach in 2008 and today his students have become members of the Maharashtra state team for the national championships and national games.

In his 3 years stint as a shooter – cum – coach, he had students ranging from 11 to 60 years old, from school and college students to corporates to housewives to bureaucrats.

  • One of his students has represented India at the World Championships in 2010.
  • Two students were a part of the Maharashtra team at the National Games in Ranchi in 2011.
  • His students have won over a dozen medals at the national shooting championships and the state shooting championships.
  • Along with sporting excellence, his students have also been rewarded for academic excellence by their educational institutions.

“In my competitive shooting experience of 13 years, I have come across many talented marksmen, mostly young boys and girls who could have made a mark in the field of shooting, but faded away very soon due to the lack of strong basic techniques of shooting.”
